Tech Task "Quote" week20(09)

For this week's extra credit Tech Task, I explored different kinds of quotemakers. I created this on one called canva.com . I used an Oscar Wilde quote and have also set it as my desktop background.

Unity tutorial 07

This week was our last week of Unity tutorials. Looking back I really enjoyed the tutorials this semester a lot more than last semester. Last semester I enjoyed the reading tasks more and struggled so much with Unity but this semester it is definitely the opposite way around. The last two tutorials where called Audio and Build, Run, Distribute, they were both short tutorials and only took me an hour altogether. The first one was adding audio to my characters and the scene I was able to do nine out fo the ten steps in this tutorial one I struggled with I think it was worded weird because I couldn't figure out what to do. I just moved on after a while and it didn't make much of aa difference. The second part was only four steps and on the last and finale step of the entire tutorial, I was unable to "BUild" the website and save it because there was something wrong with the scripts even though I have checked my scripts at the end of every tutorial. Also ruby still can only move a certain amount since the second or third tutorial I have tried to fix this numerous times and as I am not able to see any of my college friends and no one in my family has a clue about unity she will probably remain this way. Either was Rubys 2D adventure is complete and I feel like iv learned a lot.

"Tech Tip: Twitter Follow"

For this week's extra credit task I went back and did a task I had done at the start of the year as I think iv completed most of the extra credit tasks already.  I followed more people on Twitter this time I chose people outside my course that I find interesting. I followed Lewis Hamilton and Daniel Riccardo as I am watching drive to survive on Netflix at the moment and it has quickly become my new favourite show.

Unity07

For this weeks unity tutorial I complete the tutorials "World Interactions - Dialog Raycast" and "Visual Styling - User Interface - Head-Up Display". After completing these tutorials I now have only two tutorials left before I have complete Ruby's Adventure and will have a fully functional and playable 2D game. When starting the tutorials this week I realised I had made a mistake last week so I had to go back and fix the smoke particles I created last week. I then moved on to creating a health bar for ruby so when sh gets damages you can see the blue bar move down. I found this quite complicated creating different images, mask and canvases I'm still not 100% sure what I did but I followed the steps and was able to complete the tutorial in just under an hour. Next, we created a new character named Jambi, I think I'm going to have to redo this tutorial at some point during the week when I get the chance because I got a bit confused during it. I am excited to finish up the Unity tutorials and complete the game.

For my image this week I chose another screenshot of my desktop while I am mid tutorial, this is a boring option but it does prove that I am actually doing the tutorials.

Extra Credit 'Einstein Tech Tip'

For this week's extra credit task I decided to create my own Einstein image using the Einstein Generator. This is what I created:

I chose a dad joke to write on the board.

Unity Tutorial 06

For this week, week six of the semester I completed another unity tutorial, I complete both tutorials eleven and twelve. I now have just four unity tutorials left until I have completed "RubyRuby's Adventure: 2D Beginner" Unity tutorial for beginners. The first tutorial I completed was called "Camera-Cinemachine".  In that first tutorial, we installed and added a unity package called "cinemachine". This package is to automatically control the camera without the need for code and C scripts. The camera is now able to follow my main character ruby automatically. We also set bounds for the camera so it doesn't go out of the screen as well as setting bounds for ruby. This first tutorial was quick with only seven steps. Next, I completed the tutorial names "Visual Styling" this part of the tutorial was a bit longer but I still enjoyed it. I also found this tutorial a good bit harder than the first one I did today. I was very happy with myself when I completed them as I'm finding the unity tutorials a lot more doable than last semester.

Again For my image this week I chose another screenshot of my desktop while I was in the middle of the tutorial, this is a boring option but it does prove that I am actually doing the tutorials.

Extra Credit Tech Tip: Hashtags and Retweets

 Twitter Task Retweets and hashtags!

The tweet I decided to retweet was from one of my course mates and friend sean. He is looking for people to participate in his documentary, by retweeting it hopefully he will be able to find more participants.

The hashtags I explored were #GameJam and our class hashtag #dmed2023
